Yvon Clerget, Volnay Carelle Sous La Chapelle 1er Cru, 2022
The 2022 Yvon Clerget Volnay Carelle Sous La Chapelle 1er Cru is a testament to Thibaud Clerget's evolving style, offering a pure and elegant expression of Volnay. The nose is gorgeously pure with notes of red currant, lilac, violet, and anise, leading to a seductively textured, silky, and delicate palate. Expect delicate yet intense red fruit, vivid energy, and tension, with a charming and drinkable character. Despite a hot growing season, the 2022 vintage in 布根地 (Burgundy) surprisingly delivers liveliness and freshness, possibly due to well-timed rain before harvest. This wine, from 45+ year old vines, showcases subtle minerality and an impeccably well-balanced, youthfully austere finish. 【A classic Volnay of lace and grace, showcasing Thibaud Clerget's elegant winemaking style in a surprisingly fresh 2022 vintage.】
Food Pairing: This elegant red 布根地 (Burgundy) wine pairs beautifully with roasted poultry, such as duck or guinea fowl, and delicate game birds. It also complements pan-seared or grilled red meats like veal or lamb, as well as mushroom-based dishes and mild, earthy cheeses.
Event Suggestions: This wine is still quite youthful and will benefit from further aging, with recommendations to revisit in 5+ years or from 2030 onwards. It's an ideal choice for a special occasion dinner, a wine tasting focused on fine 布根地 (Burgundy) Pinot Noir, or as a cellar addition for future enjoyment.
