The J.H. Andresen Century Port 1845-1945 is a truly historic and rare fortified wine, representing a blend of a century of winemaking. It is considered a 10-Year-Old Tawny with significant bottle age. This port offers a light brown, transparent color with a noticeable rim, and on the nose, you'll find dusty honey and malty notes. The palate is structured with malt and fresh honey, offering a convincing experience for its age. It's a dessert wine, rich and warming, with suggested food pairings of chocolate and caramel.

Given its extraordinary age, handling this Port requires particular care. The cork and capsule may be fragile, so a Durand opener or similar device is recommended. Decanting is advisable to separate any sediment and allow the wine to breathe, though for such an old wine, a shorter decanting time (30 minutes to an hour) might be appropriate to preserve its delicate aromas. Serve slightly chilled, around 12-16°C (54-61°F), in a suitable Port glass.
This exceptional Port is perfect for celebrating significant milestones, such as a centennial anniversary, a retirement party, or a very special intimate gathering where its historical significance can be appreciated. It's a wine for contemplation and quiet enjoyment, a liquid testament to time.
