Dugat Py, Mazis Chambertin Vieilles Vignes Grand Cru, 2010
Red
750ml
Label : Good Label
Level : Neck Level
Capsule : Good Capsule
The 2010 Dugat-Py Mazis Chambertin Vieilles Vignes Grand Cru comes from vines with an average age of 70 years, farmed organically since 2003. The 2010 vintage in Burgundy was generally very good, despite a challenging growing season with heavy frosts and concerns about rot and mildew. This wine is known for its pedigree, often described as dense, dark, and youthful. Tasting notes frequently highlight an earthy nose with red fruit, leather, licorice, and tobacco. It is a wine built for laying down, with significant oak tannins that require time to integrate and flesh out, suggesting it needs another 5-10 years in bottle from 2020. Dugat-Py is known for producing deep, tannic wines with impressive length, aged 16-18 months in 100% new oak casks and bottled unfiltered. 【A highly sought-after Grand Cru from a polarizing yet critically acclaimed producer known for powerful, long-aging Pinot Noir.】
🍴 Food Pairing: This powerful red Burgundy is an ideal match for rich, savory dishes. Classic pairings include duck, goose, and various game birds. Its depth and tannic structure would also stand up well to roasted lamb or beef dishes.
🥂 Event Suggestions: Given its youthfulness and aging potential, the 2010 Dugat-Py Mazis Chambertin Vieilles Vignes Grand Cru is perfect for a serious wine collector's cellar. It's an excellent choice for a milestone celebration in the future, or for a dedicated tasting among connoisseurs who appreciate powerful, age-worthy Pinot Noir. If consumed now, decanting for several hours is highly recommended to allow it to open up.
