FEATURES
Nicolas Barbou, an emerging talent in the Loire Valley, is making waves with his high-quality white wines, aiming to elevate the Oisly terroirs to Grand Cru status. His Alchimie Passionnelle 2023 is a pure Chardonnay, classified as Vin de France due to AOC Touraine-Oisly regulations. The grapes are sourced from over 50-year-old vines planted on quartz, sand, and clay soils in Oisly. Winemaking is inspired by Burgundy, featuring manual harvest, whole cluster pressing, and approximately 20 months of aging in high-quality oak barrels, with about 30% new oak. This meticulous approach results in a dense, layered, and deeply expressive Chardonnay, a departure from lighter Loire styles. 【A unique expression of Touraine terroir from 50+ year old Chardonnay vines, crafted with Burgundian inspiration.】
