FEATURES
The 2017 Jamet Condrieu Blanc Vernillon comes from a challenging vintage in the Northern Rhône, marked by a mild winter, early flowering, and a freak cold spell during flowering that drastically cut Viognier yields in Condrieu, sometimes by as much as 50%. Despite the lower yields, the vintage produced wines of excellent quality, characterized by a harmony of freshness and creaminess, with remarkable minerality.
This particular wine, sourced from Côte Chatillon, is known for its intense aromatics and flavors. Tasting notes often highlight intense apricot and white peach, with floral notes like violets and honeysuckle, alongside citrus and a distinct minerality. Some reviewers also detect notes of pineapple, green citrus, and a creamy texture, with a fresh, vibrant, and elegant style. The wine is full-bodied and rich in fruit, yet maintains good acidity and vitality, with some maturation occurring in unlined amphorae to preserve tension. 【Exceptional freshness and minerality despite a warm vintage】
🍴 Food Pairing: This Condrieu pairs beautifully with rich fish like salmon or tuna, poultry, pork, and mature and hard cheeses. Its luscious, almost umami body also makes it a great match for dishes with creamy sauces or a touch of spice.
🥂 Event Suggestions: Perfect for a sophisticated dinner party, a special anniversary celebration, or as an impressive aperitif. Its exotic and distinctive character makes it a conversation starter.
