The 2017 Domaine Anne Gros Vosne-Romanée "Les Barreaux" is a highly regarded red Burgundy, with the 2017 vintage being celebrated as one of the most consistent in recent years for red Burgundies. Anne Gros is known for her signature fruit-forward lightness and elegance in her wines. The "Les Barreaux" vineyard, with its 75-year-old vines on a steep slope with minimal topsoil, contributes to the wine's terrific concentration and precision. This particular vintage has been described as charming and open-knit, with a bright line of acidity. Neal Martin of Vinous noted the 2017 Burgundy vintage as a "Modern Classic". 【Signature Anne Gros fruit-forward lightness and elegance】.
Tasting Notes: This Pinot Noir displays notes of plummy fruit, dried flowers, baking chocolate, and spices on the nose. On the palate, it offers elegant aromas, floral notes, and candied fruit with firm tannins. Other descriptions include classic Vosne spice, slightly candied fruit, red fruit, wild blackberry, blueberry, and spicy notes like pepper. It's simultaneously austere, hard, deep, elegant, sappy, and wild, with a beautiful finish of red fruit.
Food Pairing: This Burgundy Côte de Nuits Red wine is an excellent match for beef, veal, poultry, and game birds like duck and goose.
Fit to Event: The 2017 Anne Gros Vosne-Romanée Les Barreaux is ideal for fine dining experiences, special occasions, or a romantic dinner. Its elegance and complexity make it a perfect choice for those who appreciate sophisticated red Burgundies.
