The Anne Gros Bourgogne Rouge 2019 hails from one of Burgundy's most revered producers, Domaine Anne Gros, known for wines with richer aromatics, rounder curves, and silkier tannins. Anne Gros, a top winemaker in Burgundy, has cultivated a cult-like following for her limited production wines. This Bourgogne Rouge is a blend from three parcels with an average vine age of 40 years, situated on rich, humid clay soils that impart power to the wine. The 2019 vintage is considered a step up in complexity, offering fine red Pinot fruit, forest raspberries, and cherries, with a perfumed hint of peony. Tasting notes reveal aromas of red cherries, pomegranate, red plum, light herbs, and pepper, alongside an earthy, tangy, and juicy palate with good acid-fruit balance. Barrel aging in 30% new oak contributes to its weight and suppleness. 【Cult-like following and expert touch of Anne Gros, one of Burgundy's top winemakers】.
Food pairing suggestions: This elegant red Burgundy is a superb match for aged local French cheese, charcuterie, pork sausages with herbs, or various white and red meats, whether roasted or prepared in wine sauces.
Event suggestions: An ideal choice for a sophisticated dinner, a special celebration, or a gathering of wine enthusiasts who appreciate a complex and beautifully balanced red Burgundy.
