FEATURES
🏰This 2023 Nuits Saint Georges Au Bas de Combe from Georges Mugneret Gibourg is a highly anticipated release from a revered Burgundy producer, promising exceptional quality from a prestigious Premier Cru vineyard. While detailed vintage reports for 2023 are still emerging, Georges Mugneret Gibourg is renowned for crafting elegant and age-worthy Pinot Noir. Expect a vibrant, youthful expression of Pinot Noir, likely showcasing bright red berry fruits, floral hints, and a subtle earthy minerality, with a structure built for graceful evolution. This wine is currently in its nascent stage and will benefit immensely from cellaring. 🍴 This elegant red Burgundy would be superb with classic Burgundian fare like coq au vin, roasted duck breast with cherry sauce, or a delicate mushroom risotto. For a more international pairing, consider pan-seared lamb chops with herbs or a fine selection of mild, aged cheeses. 🥂 A superb choice for a special dinner with fellow Burgundy enthusiasts, a celebratory occasion where a wine with future potential is appreciated, or for laying down in your cellar to enjoy its evolution over the next decade or more.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Georges Mugneret-Gibourg is a French producer of high-quality Pinot Noir located in the Côte de Nuits, famous for its wines from Burgundy's most popular vineyards. The winery was founded in 1933, and in the 1950s small plots of land were purchased to expand the family's vineyards. Incorporated in 2009 as Domaine Georges Mugneret-Gibourg. The most rare and expensive wines of the winery come from the Grand Cru vineyards Ruchottes Chambertin, Clos de Vougeot and Echézeaux, and it also produces Burgundy red wine from multiple Premier Cru vineyards.
