FEATURES
Adrien Renoir's Le Cépage Verzy Grand Cru Extra Brut is a 100% Pinot Noir Champagne, crafted from 40-year-old vines in the chalk-rich Grand Cru slopes of Verzy. Adrien Renoir, who took full leadership of the estate in 2016, has pushed for organic and biodynamic farming, achieving organic certification in 2020. The wine is fermented with native yeasts and aged in a mix of neutral oak and steel, with all wines from 2017 onwards aged entirely in oak barrels. Tasting notes reveal a complex bouquet of pear, crisp stone fruit, buttered toast, floral notes, and a touch of smoke. On the palate, it offers red-fruited tension, saline chalk, fine phenolic grip, and a bone-dry Extra-Brut frame. It's described as having a natural-leaning style with ginger biscuit, crystallised ginger, and hibiscus on the nose, and a vigorous mousse revealing sarsaparilla and sauvage, meaty tones. 【A terroir-first, single-parcel Pinot Noir Champagne from a new-wave grower】. This Champagne is built for collectors of the new-wave grower set.
🍴 Food pairings include stinky cheese, roast white meats, white sauce dishes, and fried food. It is also suggested for oysters, scallops, grilled turbot, and aged Comté.
🥂 This tightly wired, terroir-driven Champagne is ideal for sophisticated gatherings, culinary explorations, or as a thoughtful gift for Champagne connoisseurs. Its complexity and precision make it a standout choice for special occasions.
