FEATURES
🏰 The 2007 Robert Groffier Chambertin Clos de Bèze Grand Cru comes from a vintage that, while not always easy, produced some charming and expressive red Burgundies, particularly from top producers who managed their vineyards meticulously. Robert Groffier is renowned for the seriousness of their vineyard work, with continuous triage throughout the growing season. This Grand Cru is expected to show a developing bouquet with sweet earth, brown spices, and a gentle sinewy muscle. The palate is often described as fresh, taut, and medium-bodied with fine tannins, exhibiting a linear style with saline and marine-influenced notes. 【 A testament to meticulous vineyard management in a nuanced vintage 】. Serving Advice: For a wine of this age, expect some bottle variation. The cork may be fragile, so use a Durand opener or a two-pronged cork puller. Stand the bottle upright for at least 24 hours before serving to allow any sediment to settle. Decanting is recommended for 30-60 minutes to allow the wine to open up and shed any reductive notes, but be mindful of over-decanting very old wines. Serve at a cool cellar temperature, around 16-18°C (60-64°F). 🍴 This profound red 布根地 demands equally refined food pairings. Consider roasted game birds like pheasant or partridge, a classic beef bourguignon, or a delicate mushroom tart. Aged hard cheeses such as Comté or Gruyère would also be an excellent match. 🥂 An exceptional choice for a milestone celebration, a serious wine tasting, or a sophisticated dinner with fellow Burgundy enthusiasts. Its complexity and evolving character make it a contemplative wine, perfect for an evening dedicated to appreciating fine aged Pinot Noir.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Robert Groffier Père & Fils is a winery in the Morey-Saint-Denis commune of the Côte de Nuits in Burgundy, France. A majority of the producer's vineyards are in Chambolle-Musigny and Gevrey-Chambertin where it makes a range of grand and premier cru wines, mostly from Burgundy's prized red variety, Pinot Noir. The estate has 7 hectares (17 acres) of land. The domaine has been in the Groffier family since the 19th Century when it was established by Frederick Groffier. Robert Groffier took over in the mid-20th Century and the estate began to bottle its own wine.
