Leflaive, Meursault Sous Le Dos D' Ane 1er Cru, 2022
The 2022 vintage for Domaine Leflaive Meursault Sous Le Dos d'Ane 1er Cru brought serenity back to the vineyard with a healthy harvest and good volumes, marked by higher-than-average temperatures and rainfall deficits. This 1er Cru Meursault is 100% Chardonnay, known for its clean and precise nose with hazelnut and light fumé aromas, gaining intensity with aeration. The palate is fresh and saline, with green apple notes leading to a brisk, sapid finish, sometimes described as Puligny-like. Tasting notes also highlight aromas of dried fruit, hazelnut, and orange, creating a harmonious and seductive aromatic palette, with a punchy plot and a very present length. Other descriptions include citrus, chalk, wet stone, gunpowder, white flowers, and honeydew melon, with fresh, zesty acidity. 【A chiseled effort showcasing pungent minerality and a beautifully textured, bone-dry finish.】
Food pairing suggestions: This elegant white Burgundy pairs beautifully with crayfish quenelles with Nantua sauce or seared scallops with butter and thyme. It also complements rich fish dishes, poultry, and creamy cheeses.
Event suggestions: An excellent choice for a sophisticated dinner, a special anniversary, or a wine tasting event focused on premium white Burgundies.
