FEATURES
The 2010 Domaine de l'Arlot Romanée-Saint-Vivant Grand Cru hails from a vintage characterized by a mild, rainy winter and a spring with fluctuating temperatures. Despite some cluster loss due to cool, damp conditions during flowering, a warm, dry August ensured good veraison and ripening, leading to a harvest that began on September 18th. This Grand Cru parcel, planted in 1973, is exceptionally rare, producing on average only three barrels annually, making it a highly sought-after 'museum release' from the domaine.
This wine presents a bright ruby color with a sumptuous bouquet of black cherries, raspberry jelly, blackberry cordial, and violets, which will evolve into notes of undergrowth and leather with further age. On the palate, it is subtle and silky, beautifully balanced with a good structure and firm tannins that envelop flavors of black cherry and blackcurrant, leading to a very harmonious and long finish. Critics have praised its 'gorgeously feminine' character with 'soft harmonious red fruit flavours' and 'incredible depth of flavours which linger for ever'. 【Its extreme rarity, with only three barrels produced annually, and its prime location next to Romanée-Conti, make it a true collector's gem.】
🍴 For food pairings, consider roast game birds, truffled dishes, or aged cheeses. It also beautifully complements fillet of beef with truffle sauce, pressed duck or chicken with ceps, and in autumn, hare 'à la royale'.
🥂 This fully mature and ready-to-drink wine, with potential to hold further, is perfect for high-end dining, significant celebrations, or a luxurious evening. Decant and serve at 16-18°C to allow its complex aromas and flavors to fully unfold.
