FEATURES
The 2019 Realm Cellars Farella Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon marks a significant vintage, being the first to incorporate 8% Merlot, a decision aimed at softening the wine's youthful angularity. Realm Cellars took over the vineyard's management in 2018, focusing on canopy optimization to achieve riper tannins. Critics have lauded this vintage as "tremendous," praising its ability to capture the savory and mineral nuances characteristic of the Coombsville site, balanced with a radiant expression of fruit. It's also noted for being remarkably approachable even in its youth, offering bright red fruit, graphite, fresh herbs, and an earthy profile.
This Cabernet Sauvignon displays a deep garnet-purple hue. The nose is powerful and expressive, revealing baked plums, juicy blackberries, blackcurrant pastilles, alongside intriguing notes of black olives, lavender, cinnamon stick, and a waft of fragrant earth. On the palate, it is full-bodied, dense, and muscular, built upon a rock-solid foundation of super ripe, grainy tannins and vibrant freshness, culminating in an epic, energetic finish. Additional nuances of red plum, rose petal, cinnamon, and blood orange contribute to its complexity. 【Spectacular showing for Farella, with 98RP, 97DC, 97VN, 96JD, 95JS ratings】
