FEATURES
The 2022 Château des Fines Roches Châteauneuf-du-Pape is a vibrant expression of the Southern Rhône, crafted from a complex blend dominated by 70% Grenache, alongside Syrah, Mourvèdre, Cinsault, Counoise, and Muscardin. With vines averaging 50 years old and grown on distinctive round pebbles, this wine is partly aged in oak vats for a year, contributing to its depth. In its youth, it displays a dark red colour with purplish reflections. The nose offers a complex bouquet of ripe red fruits, sweet spices like cinnamon and nutmeg, smoky, and woody notes, complemented by flowers, kirsch, and a hint of liquorice. The palate is medium-bodied, emphasizing freshness and approachability, with a silky, kirsch-rich profile. Roundness is prominent, with present yet non-aggressive alcohol and tannins, leading to a very persistent, full-bodied, and velvety finish. 【A complex blend of numerous grape varieties, showcasing the rich diversity of Châteauneuf-du-Pape.】
Food pairing suggestions:
This Châteauneuf-du-Pape is an excellent match for classic meat dishes such as veal, pork, beef, lamb, duck, and game, whether roasted, braised, or stewed. It also pairs well with Asian dishes, hearty fish like tuna, mushroom pasta, eggplant, and various cheeses. Consider it with lamb cooked in an oriental style, duck with prunes or figs, or a Provençal beef stew.
