FEATURES
The 2009 vintage in Châteauneuf-du-Pape was exceptional, characterized by a very dry and hot summer with less than 30mm of rainfall between June and September, even drier than the 2007 record. Heavy rains in late 2008 and early 2009 helped restore soil water reserves, and a cooler, more humid spring preceded the hot summer. This led to very healthy and colorful grapes with well-structured tannins, resulting in concentrated, colorful, and generous red wines. The vintage is considered among the great ones, like 2005 and 2007, with many wines offering excellent aging potential.
Château des Fines Roches Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2009, a blend typically featuring Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, and Cinsault, among others, showcases a powerful and complex bouquet. Aromas often include mocha, garrigue, laurel, candied cherry, and hints of cherry stones, evolving into notes of roasted plums, cocoa, and undergrowth. On the palate, it is concentrated and generous, with ripe red and black fruit flavors, often described with notes of pepper, prune, and liquorice. It exhibits a beautiful balance and richness, with supple yet structured tannins and a long, spicy finish. Even after more than a decade, these wines retain marked youth and freshness. 【An exceptional vintage for Châteauneuf-du-Pape reds, offering significant aging potential】.
