FEATURES
The 2003 Quinta do Noval Vintage Port hails from a vintage marked by an exceptionally hot August, followed by timely rains and ideal conditions in October, allowing the grapes to achieve full maturity. This resulted in a full-bodied wine with intense colour and a complex bouquet, considered a success for the vintage. It garnered high praise from critics, including 97 points from Jamie Goode, 96 from Wine Spectator, and 95 from Robert Parker.
This Port displays a dense ruby colour. The nose is very fruity with floral aromas and ripe black fruit, complemented by hints of toasted bread and new wood. On the palate, it offers a silky, polished texture with engaging acidity. Expect a complex bouquet of wild flowers and ripe red fruits, with notes of chocolate, blackberries, and raisins. It is full-bodied and medium sweet, supported by velvety tannins, leading to a long, layered finish. Further complexity emerges with a gorgeous raisin, fig, and clove-scented bouquet, evolving with touches of leather, California raisin, and dried flower. The palate is medium-bodied with very supple tannins, dishing out ripe and intense blackberry, leather, sage, tobacco, and white-pepper notes. Some tasting notes also mention heavy tannins, plums, and a dark chocolate aftertaste. 【A highly acclaimed vintage port from a renowned producer, praised for its intensity, complexity, and aging potential.】
