FEATURES
Domaine François Mikulski's Meursault Meix Chavaux 2022 hails from a parcel with an average vine age of 35 years, managed with non-certified organic methods. This small-production wine (around 800 bottles annually) is crafted from 100% Chardonnay grown on rock plate sub-soils, contributing to its distinctive mineral character. 【 Textbook Meursault Meix Chavaux minerality and austerity 】.
The 2022 Meursault Meix Chavaux presents exuberantly fresh and cool aromas of green apple, lemon-lime, acacia, and a hint of crushed anise. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with a gorgeous texture, a clear bead of minerality, and a sleek, bone-dry, youthfully austere finish. When mature, it promises an explosive palate and nose revealing honey, exotic fruits, butter, hazelnut, grilled almonds, and yellow fruits. Nuances of white peach, Comice pear, clementine, orange, violet, and a subtle incense note from the rocky terroir can also be found.
This Meursault is ideal with warm shellfish, fish, or white meat, especially those prepared with butter or cream sauces, such as chicken with morel mushrooms, scallops, or hot oysters. It also pairs beautifully with rich fish like salmon or tuna, and mild, soft cheeses.
A superb choice for a refined dinner, a celebration of fine Burgundy white wines, or as a thoughtful gift for a Chardonnay connoisseur. It's a wine that benefits from 5-10 years of aging to fully develop its complexity.
