FEATURES
The 2011 Domaine des Ardoisières Quartz is a white wine from the Savoie region, specifically from the Cévins hillside, known for its steep slopes and schist-based soils. This cuvée is made from 100% Altesse grapes, a local variety, and is considered one of the best expressions of Altesse available. It's known for its purity, richness, and personality, often served in Michelin-starred restaurants.
Tasting notes reveal a complex and seductive nose with aromas of white fruits, quince, mirabelle plum, walnut, and floral notes like honeysuckle and wisteria. On the palate, it's well-structured, sophisticated, intense, and perfectly balanced, offering extreme refinement and purity. Expect notes of honey, minerals, stone, peach, apple, apricot, cream, oil, and yeast, with a remarkable persistence and a certain salinity. 【Unique expression of Altesse from schist soils】.
🍴 Food pairing suggestions include shellfish, chicken in a cream sauce, pork, poultry, mature and hard cheese, lean fish, cured meat, raclette cheese, roast poultry, rich oysters, crayfish, scallops, and white fish.
🥂 This wine is perfect for an evening with friends, a gourmet dinner, or as an accompaniment to oven-baked fish with a lemony, butter sauce. It can be enjoyed now, with a recommended 30-minute decant, or cellared up until 2025+.
