FEATURES
Pierre Olivier Garcia continues to impress from his 'Les Herbues' vineyard in Nuits-Saint-Georges, a site known for its cool limestone soils and proximity to Vosne-Romanée. His commitment to organic farming and the unique "baie-par-baie" (berry-by-berry) de-stemming method ensures a wine of distinctive aromatic lift and purity. The 2023 vintage experienced a hot and dry growing season, which was ultimately saved by significant rains in June, allowing the vines to withstand summer heat and drought. This resulted in ideal sanitary conditions and a modest, yet concentrated, yield. The vintage is characterized by its freshness, floral notes, precision, and mineral drive. It's noted for being juicy, perfumed, and elegant, making it an easy-drinking vintage. While abundant, Garcia managed yields well, resulting in a lovely effortlessness to the wines, though with some variation in phenolic ripeness compared to the more uniformly ripe 2022s. Expect a medium ruby color. The nose is fresh and floral, with notes of cherry, raspberry, violet, wild strawberry, fine spices, and chalk. Some tasters find an airy nose of roses and red berries, licorice, and cardamon, with spicy scents reminiscent of Vosne. The palate is juicy, fresh, and elegant, with lively acidity, fine tannins, and cool mineral tension. It offers a soft, pliant mid-palate with infused Pinot fruits. The finish is long, floral, spicy, and very pure. This wine is already enjoyable and open for business, with its gentle acidity contributing to its immediate appeal. 【A concentrated and elegant vintage, showcasing the domaine's signature floral precision and early drinkability.】
