FEATURES
🏰 The 2023 vintage in 布根地 (Burgundy) is still very young, and detailed vintage reports are emerging. However, Nuits-Saint-Georges, a prominent appellation in the Côte de Nuits, is known for producing powerful red wines with aromas of undergrowth and red fruit, often endowed with fine minerality. Pierre Olivier Garcia's Nuits Saint Georges La Petite Charmotte would likely reflect the characteristics of the vintage while showcasing the producer's style. These wines, when opened at the right moment, offer a powerful mouthfeel. 【 Powerful mouthfeel and fine minerality 】.
🍴 Nuits-Saint-Georges wines, with their robust character, are excellent with hearty dishes. A 'classic' Nuits-Saint-Georges pairs well with red meats in sauce, roast lamb, or small game with prunes. For a Premier Cru, more powerful dishes like game in hunter's sauce, rare prime rib, or duck breast are recommended. Other suitable pairings include veal, game (deer, venison), and beef.
🥂 This wine is suitable for a special dinner, a gathering of 布根地 enthusiasts, or as a cellar addition for those who enjoy powerful and age-worthy Pinot Noir. Given its youth, it has excellent potential for further development in the cellar.
BACKGROUND
Originally named Moron-Garcia, Domaine Pierre-Olivier Garcia is located in Burgundy, France. The primary grape varieties are Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. It was co-founded in 2016 by childhood friends Mathieu Moron and Pierre-Olivier Garcia. The inspiration came from Pierre-Olivier Garcia's father, Jean-Pierre Garcia, a renowned geologist at the University of Burgundy, who gifted him a vineyard in the village of Nuits Saint Georges called "Les Charmois," spanning just 0.4 hectares. Subsequently, Mathieu and Pierre-Olivier purchased a house in the center of Nuits Saint Georges, which they converted into a winery and cellar, marking the beginning of the domaine's history.
