🏰 The 2001 Dugat-Py Mazis Chambertin Grand Cru is a 【highly sought-after expression from a top Burgundy producer and Grand Cru vineyard】, showcasing the potential of the 2001 vintage which, despite a challenging growing season, yielded very good reds in the Cote de Nuits. Dugat-Py is renowned for crafting powerful and concentrated wines, and this Mazis Chambertin Grand Cru from 2001 is likely to display a complex bouquet of red and dark fruits, earthy undertones, and subtle spice, with a structured palate and evolving tertiary notes. The vintage produced wines with respectable color, good fruit, normal acidity, and present tannins, often needing time to fully evolve.
🍴 This mature Grand Cru Burgundy is an exquisite pairing for roasted game birds like pheasant or partridge, beef bourguignon, or truffle-infused dishes. It also complements aged Epoisses or Comte cheese.
🥂 An exceptional choice for a milestone celebration, a serious wine tasting, or a contemplative evening with fellow Burgundy aficionados.
*Serving Suggestion*: For a wine of this age, stand the bottle upright for at least 24 hours to allow any sediment to settle. Open carefully, as the cork may be fragile. Decanting for 30-60 minutes can help the wine open up and shed any initial reductive notes, but be mindful not to over-decant very old wines. Serve at cellar temperature, around 16-18°C (60-64°F).
