FEATURES
The 2024 Wittmann Westhofener Riesling hails from a vintage in Rheinhessen characterized by a "classically Nordic ripening of fruit" with a slightly later season and sufficient rain, culminating in a wonderful late summer in August and September. Winemaker Philipp Wittmann, celebrated as Germany's Winemaker of the Year in 2014, is a leader in biodynamic viticulture. This Westhofener Riesling is a stunning "premier cru" dry Riesling, known for showcasing the typical limestone minerality of its origins.

This dry-styled Riesling presents a clear, straw color. On the nose, it offers a bouquet of lemon tea, gardenia, wet slate, and nectarine. The palate is medium-bodied with integrated medium-plus acidity, revealing flavors of lime, tonic water, green tea, and stone fruit, leading to a long, dry, and salty finish. Other notes describe citrus fruit, savory hints, fresh lemons, white grapefruit, lime zest, and white peach, with a taut, linear, and animating palate. It's also noted for its deep, pure, fresh, chalky/saline nose, with perfectly ripe and intense fruit, culminating in a round, intense, crystalline, citric, and finely tannic profile.
🍴 Food Pairing: This versatile Riesling pairs beautifully with Coquilles Saint-Jacques, root vegetables and squashes, seasonal salads, fresh vegetables, white meats, or fish.
🥂 Event Fit: An essential everyday Riesling, perfect for casual gatherings or as a refreshing accompaniment to a variety of meals.
