FEATURES
The 2017 vintage for Delas Crozes-Hermitage Le Clos comes from a generally very good year in the Rhône Valley, particularly the Northern Rhône, which experienced a mild winter followed by early warm weather, leading to an early flowering and growing season. This particular wine is crafted exclusively in exceptional years from a meticulous selection of grapes.
This Syrah boasts a deep ruby colour with alluring garnet reflections. The nose initially opens with fragrances of stewed black fruits like blackcurrant and blackberries, evolving with aeration to reveal subtle notes of leather and game. The palate is balanced and delicate, captivating with its breadth, smoothness, and a finish reminiscent of very ripe black cherries. It's described as perfumed and unctuous, richly textured, brimming with sun-drenched black cherry and mulberry flavours, and matured in oak for 10 to 14 months, offering a glossy, lavish sip with hints of smoke, nut, and licorice. Expect charming floral notes, black olives, ripe cherries, and a full-bodied, creamy yet silky texture with mocha on the finish.
Ideal food pairings include water game, a selection of grilled dishes, marinated meats, poultry, and lamb.
