FEATURES
🏰 Vincent Dauvissat's Chablis Les Clos Grand Cru 2023 hails from Les Clos, arguably the greatest of Chablis's seven Grand Crus, renowned for producing wines of consistent quality that demand time to develop. The 2023 vintage in Chablis was unique, marked by historic precocity with harvest occurring entirely in August, and high temperatures causing a significant water deficit. Despite these challenges, some 2023 Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos are performing superbly, exemplifying controlled power and offering remarkable openness for a Les Clos, alongside mineral depth, saline energy, and great aging potential. 【The king of Grand Crus, offering remarkable mineral depth and aging potential】
This wine presents an intense straw yellow color with brilliant clarity. The nose reveals classic gunflint minerality, smoke, a trace of tobacco, crushed stone, petrichor, white flowers, green apples, mirabelle plums, and lemon zest. On the palate, it is juicy and sensual with ripe fruit and fine sweetness, powerful drive, fresh acidity, a saline and energetic finish with subtle tannin. It is bone dry, full-bodied, and intense, with pungent minerality, citrus, and stone fruit, leading to a long, salty, subtly bitter finish. Initially quite closed, this wine develops exceptionally well over time without losing its inherent minerality.
🍴 Chablis Les Clos Grand Cru is a wine for haute cuisine. It is ideal with grilled seawater fish, lobster (whether thermidor or with cream and tarragon), roasted turbot (especially with butter sauce), and scallops (with brown butter or cauliflower purée). It also pairs exquisitely with foie gras, aged hard cheeses like Comté, richer oyster preparations, roasted poultry with truffles, veal in cream sauce, or even lighter game birds.
🥂 This superb white 布根地 is perfect for celebratory meals, fine dining, or as a centerpiece for a grand seafood feast. Its significant aging potential means it can be enjoyed now with curiosity, or cellared for a decade or more to reveal its full complexity.
