FEATURES
The 2020 Icario Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG hails from a relatively young winery, founded in 1998 with new ownership in 2015, yet it's quickly establishing a name for itself. This wine represents Italy's first DOCG, symbolizing excellence and tradition, and is celebrated for its elegant structure, fresh acidity, and captivating charm. Predominantly crafted from Sangiovese grapes, with small additions of local varieties like Colorino, it undergoes fermentation in stainless steel, followed by 18 months of aging in large French oak barrels and further bottle maturation. It showcases a deep ruby-red colour that will gracefully develop garnet hues with age. The bouquet is intensely aromatic, offering notes of ripe red and dark fruits, sweet spices, forest floor, delicate florals, cherries, balsamic, and pleasant herbal undertones. On the palate, it is full-bodied, elegant, and beautifully balanced, with refined tannins and vibrant acidity that contribute to its impressive texture and fine body. Expect a long and persistent finish, revealing complex layers of leather, earthy notes, smoke, plum, black fruit, oak, tobacco, vanilla, and a hint of licorice. 【As Italy's first DOCG, Icario's Vino Nobile di Montepulciano embodies the historic winemaking tradition and excellence of Tuscany.】
