This 100% Syrah wine is a pure and elegant expression of Côte Rôtie's emblematic grape variety.
This youthful wine reflects the classic Jamet style, showcasing 【violet, licorice, sweet spices, and smoky bacon notes】 on a palate with 【plenty of crunch and freshness】. While enjoyable now with decanting, it is built to develop significant complexity over the next 10 to 15 years, with an optimal drinking window between 2028 and 2040.
🍴 Excellent with roasted lamb, game, grilled red meats, and dishes featuring savory herbs, where its youthful intensity can shine.
🥂 A superb wine for collectors to cellar for many years, or for a special occasion if decanted extensively, to appreciate its vibrant character and future promise.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Jamet is a renowned wine producer located in Ampuis, at the heart of the northern Rhône wine region in France, celebrated for its traditional Cote Rotie wines. The estate spans about seven hectares (17 acres) of vineyards, scattered across small plots in the Côte Brune and Côte Blonde areas of Côte Rotie. Predominantly, the vineyards are planted with Syrah, complemented by minor plantings of Marsanne, Viognier, and Roussanne. Founded by Joseph Jamet in 1950. By 1976, Domaine Jamet started bottling its own wines. After Joseph retired, his sons Jean-Luc and Jean-Paul ran the estate. Currently, Jean-Paul and Corinne Jamet oversee the domaine, joined by their son Loïc since 2015.
