FEATURES
The 2014 Schrader Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon T6 from Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard hails from a "textbook growing season". The vintage was marked by a perfectly temperate growing season with long, moderate days and cool, clear nights, leading to an early budbreak and optimal fruit set of small, concentrated berries. Although crop yields were slightly down, the quality was magnificent. This particular wine is crafted from clone 6 of the renowned To Kalon Vineyard and aged in 95% new Darnajou and 5% Taransaud barrels. Winemaker Thomas Brown describes the Schrader T6 as being "all about everything in abundance and everything in perfect balance".
This powerful red wine offers a heady and captivating mix of ultra-ripe red and black fruit, layered with notes of roasted game, exotic and savoury spices, and crème de cassis. It is stunningly pure and intense, exhibiting prodigious balance. Expect a sexy display of black fruits, liquorice, camphor, graphite, and subtle background oak. Aromas of blackberries, minerals, liquorice, and dried violets lead to a full body, big and juicy tannins, and an abundance of fruit. It is dense, powerful, with a lightly austere finish, and also features dark berries, cassis, blueberries, and violets interlaced with spice, cedar, and mocha. The texture is described as mouthcoating, round, rich, and voluptuous. 【A "kick-ass Cabernet Sauvignon" from the esteemed Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard, lauded for its abundance, perfect balance, and potential to age for 20+ years】.
Food pairing suggestions: This rich and powerful Cabernet Sauvignon is an exceptional match for prime cuts of beef, such as ribeye or filet mignon, as well as lamb chops, venison, and other robust red meats. Aged, hard cheeses would also complement its intensity beautifully.
