The 2014 Marchand Tawse Bonnes Mares Grand Cru is a Pinot Noir from Burgundy, a vintage that saw excellent, balanced conditions despite hailstorms reducing yields in some areas. This wine is described as an absolute joy to behold, though sadly only one barrel was produced, making it a rare experience. It possesses a powerful perfume of violets and red berries, leading to a fruity richness on the palate laced with subtle tannins. The wine is expected to develop for 15 to 20 years in the bottle, with a maturity window from 2020 to 2032. Critics have noted its sleek exterior hiding a core of immense power, suggesting it will handsomely reward patience. Tasting notes often highlight red fruit (raspberry, bing cherry), oaky notes (butter, chocolate, coffee), and spices, with earthy and floral undertones. 【An absolute joy to behold, with immense power, from a single barrel production】.
Food pairing suggestions: This elegant Grand Cru Burgundy pairs beautifully with delicate, sauced red meat dishes such as duck, goose, or game birds. It also complements most cheeses.
Event suggestions: An exceptional choice for a sophisticated dinner, a special celebration, or as a prized addition to a Burgundy collector's cellar. Its rarity and aging potential make it a truly special bottle.
