FEATURES
The Tedeschi family is renowned for crafting robust and age-worthy Amarone bottles. The 2013 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico is a blend of Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, and other complementary local grapes. The grapes undergo a traditional four-month drying process before a long fermentation and maceration, followed by three years of aging in large Slavonian oak barrels.
This Amarone presents a strong, clear, and transparent ruby red color. The aromas are complex, featuring dark cherry, cocoa, cedar, crushed blackberries, spice, flowers, and hints of Slavonian oak, black currant jam, pepper, and cinnamon. On the palate, it is concentrated and full-bodied, with a peppery, berry character, medium tannins, and a fine, long-lasting, persistent finish. Further notes of menthol, asphalt, and tar are also discernible, with a slight sweet impression beautifully balanced by a firm structure. It's described as smooth and round, with concentrated dry berries. 【 A robust and age-worthy Amarone known for its densely extracted fruit and exotic spice complexity. 】
🍴 Given its richness and intensity, this Amarone pairs exceptionally well with hearty, rich dishes. Consider roasted red meats, game, braised beef, rich stews, and aged hard cheeses like Parmigiano-Reggiano.
🥂 The 2013 Tedeschi Amarone della Valpolicella Classico is still youthful but can be enjoyed now or cellared further, with a recommended drinking window extending from 2023 through 2033. It's an ideal choice for a celebratory dinner, a special occasion during the colder months, or as a contemplative wine to savor after a meal.
