FEATURES
Domaine Lécheneaut, a family-run estate in Nuits-Saint-Georges, is dedicated to preserving Burgundy's terroir through rigorous sustainable agriculture, including the use of organic products since 2000 and traditional soil cultivation. The 2020 vintage in Burgundy was marked by warm and dry conditions, leading to an early harvest and Pinot Noirs with high color and aromatic intensity, promising excellent cellaring potential. Clos de la Roche Grand Cru, a prestigious Pinot Noir vineyard in Morey-Saint-Denis, is known for producing robust and age-worthy wines from its stony, hard, brown limestone soils. The Lécheneaut brothers, Philippe and Vincent, along with Jules, their third generation, meticulously manage their vineyards and employ a minimalist approach in the cellar, with aging in oak barrels to enhance complexity.
The 2020 Clos de la Roche Grand Cru displays a beautiful dark red color with violet reflections. It offers a very floral bouquet of violets, followed by a complex aromatic palette of fresh black fruits, dark berries, and cassis, intertwined with sweet spices, licorice, smoke, and orange rind. On the palate, it is brooding and powerful, full-bodied, deep, and muscular, with a broad attack and a sweet core of fruit. Expect rich, powdery tannins, lively acids, and a long, resonant, saline finish, showcasing a precise and muscular character with beautiful tension.
