FEATURES
The 2015 vintage in the Southern Rhône was rich and profound, often compared to the excellent 2010 and 2016 vintages. Domaine des Tours is a special project under the ownership of Emmanuel Reynaud, the legendary winemaker behind the iconic Château Rayas. Though labelled as a Vin de Pays de Vaucluse, it receives the same meticulous care and distinctive winemaking philosophy as Reynaud's more prestigious labels, making it a highly sought-after 'insider' wine. The estate practices organic farming, utilizing whole-cluster fermentation and native yeasts, with grapes harvested later than most in the region. This red is a deeply expressive field blend, typically featuring Grenache, Counoise, Syrah, Cinsault, and Merlot.
The 2015 Domaine des Tours Vaucluse Rouge offers distinct dried cherry and rhubarb notes, evolving into a musky, blood orange character, gaining sweetness and power with aeration. Tasting notes also reveal sour red cherries, garrigue (Mediterranean herbs), subtle tomato leaf, exotic spices, light violet, and cocoa. The palate is characterized by bramble, cinnamon, pepper, wild game, leather, tobacco leaf, and chocolate, supported by velvety tannins, medium acidity, and a medium-plus finish.
Food pairing suggestions include lamb, especially herb-crusted preparations, slow-cooked ratatouille, or roasted chicken with olives and lemon. It also pairs beautifully with earthy dishes like mushroom risotto, truffles, and wild herbs, as well as charcuterie, and soft to medium-hard cheeses such as Saint-Nectaire. Gamey meats, braised dishes, and steak are also excellent companions.
This wine is ideally suited for gourmet dinners, special occasions, or gatherings with friends who appreciate the unique and profound character of Rhône wines. It's a wine that invites contemplation and rewards patience, perfect for a sophisticated evening. 【Crafted by Emmanuel Reynaud, the legendary winemaker of Château Rayas】.
