FEATURES
Aurélien Lurquin is a highly regarded young producer in Champagne, known for crafting beautiful, organic Champagnes with minimal intervention. His estate in Romery, Vallée de la Marne, is modest in size, with very low yields, prioritizing quality over quantity. The 2019 vintage for Champagne, despite initial weather challenges, ultimately delivered good quality. Les Forcières is a specific parcel renowned for its clay-limestone soils, ideal for Pinot Noir. Production of this cuvée is extremely limited, making it a true rarity.
This 2019 Les Forcières Pinot Noir, often presented as a Rosé Champagne or Blanc de Noirs, offers a very pleasant nose of white peach and grapefruit, with expressive citrus and blueberry notes on the palate. It's described as quite crisp, with a fine effervescence, and can be disconcerting for a Pinot Noir as it sometimes resembles a Blanc de Blancs that has been cellared for a few years. With air, raspberry notes come to the fore, and the finish shows a light sweetness. Other notes mention an interesting bouquet of apples, citrus, herbs, and a cider touch, with an intense and flavourful palate, and a sophisticated, long aftertaste. It is complex and profound, delicately spiced, and very promising. 【A rare, terroir-driven Champagne from a highly sought-after organic producer.】
🍴 This versatile Champagne pairs wonderfully with a range of dishes. Consider pork, shellfish, rich fish like salmon or tuna, and mild to soft cheeses. Its crisp acidity and fruit notes also make it an excellent match for salads and green vegetables.
🥂 The Aurélien Lurquin Les Forcières Pinot Noir 2019 is an ideal choice for intimate celebrations, a special apéritif, or as a unique gift for a discerning Champagne enthusiast. Its limited production and distinctive style make it a conversation starter. While enjoyable now, some suggest it will gain further complexity with a few more years of cellaring.
