The 2022 vintage in Burgundy for white wines is described as exceptional, with Henri Boillot producing an impressive range. The wines are noted for their excellent concentration and vibrant acidity, often displaying notes of citrus zest, apple tart, white florals, and oak spice. The 2022 Puligny-Montrachet from Henri Boillot is characterized by a cool, airy, and elegant nose with citrus and floral scents, liberally suffused with wet stone nuances. On the palate, it offers excellent volume and focused power, with dense and intense medium-bodied flavors that exude an almost palpable minerality, leading to a superbly long finish. Jasper Morris describes it as remarkably stylish with full ripeness, offering several waves of flavor that become fresher towards the finish, ending with pure white fruit. 【 An absolute knockout and a clear candidate for the best premier cru of the vintage 】.
This vibrant white Burgundy is perfect for celebratory gatherings, elegant dinner parties, or as a sophisticated aperitif. Its freshness and complexity make it suitable for special occasions.
🍴 Food pairing suggestions for Puligny-Montrachet generally include rich seafood dishes like scallops, lobster, or grilled fish. Creamy poultry dishes, risottos with mushrooms, or goat cheese would also be excellent matches.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Henri Boillot is a wine producer based in Meursault, France, is renowned for its red and white wines from Côtes de Beaune appellations. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are the primary grape varieties featured. The estate was named Domaine Jean Boillot until 2005, but was changed when Henri Boillot bought out his siblings in order to distinguish it from his brother's new Domaine Jean-Marc Boillot. Henri had previously set up Maison Henri Boillot for négociant wines and retains these labels to distinguish them from estate wines.
