🏰 The 2018 Meo Camuzet Richebourg Grand Cru is an exemplary vintage, evincing elegance and power, weaving an illustrious narrative of Vosne-Romanée's hallowed grounds. This red Burgundy benefited from favorable climatic conditions, providing ripe grapes with an excellent balance between freshness and concentration. The Méo plot, often cooler and fresher, still produced a huge volume of fruit in this warm year.
【This jaw-dropping Richebourg is a bit backward, opening with notes of strawberry compote, cherries, raw cocoa, and espresso roast, with a lavish application of new oak. On the palate, it's full-bodied, rich, and enveloping, with a textural, concentrated profile underpinned by succulent acids. Expect immense density, firm yet softly embedded tannins, and a long, structured finish with hints of black fruit, violets, and earthy truffle nuances.】
🍴 This prestigious red Burgundy pairs exquisitely with classic French cuisine such as roasted duck breast with cherry reduction, pan-seared foie gras, or a rich venison stew. For an Asian twist, consider Cantonese-style roasted goose or a delicate braised pigeon with mushrooms.
🥂 Ideal for a special gathering among friends who appreciate fine wines, an important business meal, or for serious Pinot Noir collectors looking for something truly special. This wine is built to age beautifully.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Meo-Camuzet is located in the village of Vosne-Romanee, France. The estate employs organic fertilizers and advanced cultivation techniques to maintain ecological balance in the vineyards. Coupled with the exceptional terroir and the legacy of Henri Jayer, Jean-Nicholas' efforts have elevated the estate to a top-tier winery in just a few decades. In 2003, Jean-Nicholas founded the négociant business Méo-Camuzet Frères et Soeurs. Although the grapes are purchased, the team personally supervises the vineyards to ensure the quality of the grape sources.
