🏰 The 2019 vintage in Burgundy is widely regarded as truly excellent, even legendary, despite challenges like spring frosts and a hot, dry summer that reduced yields. The resulting red wines are complex, richly fruit-forward, and refined, with excellent structures and great terroir typicity. Hudelot-Noellat's Chambolle-Musigny 2019 is part of this highly acclaimed vintage. The vintage saw temperatures above average and a significant hydric deficit, yet the vines proved resilient, producing remarkably classical wines. The 2019 Chambolle-Musigny Village is described as superb, mingling aromas of cherries and raspberries with hints of dark chocolate, potpourri, and spices. It is medium to full-bodied, textural, and precise, combining impressive mid-palate volume with terrific cut. The quality of red Burgundy in 2019 varied, but communes like Morey Saint Denis, Gevrey Chambertin, Marsannay, and Fixin yielded incredibly luscious Pinot Noir that are ripe and aromatic.
【A superb expression from a legendary Burgundy vintage】
🍴 This elegant Chambolle-Musigny pairs beautifully with classic Burgundian cuisine, such as coq au vin or beef bourguignon. It's also excellent with roasted poultry, duck breast, or delicate game birds. For cheese, consider mild, earthy options like Comté or Époisses.
🥂 The Hudelot-Noellat Chambolle-Musigny 2019 is an ideal choice for a special occasion, a romantic dinner, or as a prized addition to a Burgundy collector's cellar. Its balance and structure suggest it will age gracefully for many years.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Hudelot-Noëllat primarily cultivates Pinot Noir. The estate was founded in 1960 and is located in the village of Clos Vougeot. The original owner, Alain, married the granddaughter of the renowned Charles Noëllat from Vosne-Romanée, bringing with her several valuable vineyard plots as dowry. The vineyards are primarily located in Vosne-Romanée, Chambolle-Musigny, and Nuits-St-Georges, covering a total of 6.6 hectares. The estate is currently managed by Charles Van Canneyt. In 2005, winemaker Vincent Munier joined the team.
