🏰 The 2014 Arnoux Lachaux Nuits Saint Georges Les Proces 1er Cru is a red Burgundy that showcases quintessential elegance amidst climatic challenges of the vintage. The 2014 Burgundy vintage experienced a difficult start with unpredictable conditions, including hail in the Côte de Beaune and poor flowering in some hillside vineyards, yet skilled winemakers like Arnoux Lachaux managed to produce remarkable wines. This particular Premier Cru is noted for its brooding yet elegant nose, offering cool and restrained scents of red currant, cassis, spice, and earth, with just enough wood to notice. Tasting notes reveal ripe dark red cherries, dark red plums, chalk, stony minerality, and bramble earth, with hints of animal meat and a long, juicy finish. It is described as having a medium+ acidity and medium tannins, drinking very well now with good development ahead. Some critics have praised its complexity, with notes of flora, red cherry, and strawberry, earning scores as high as 94-95 points. The vineyard, Les Procès, is a 0.63-hectare plot with an average vine age of about 70 years, situated on clay and limestone soils, contributing to the wine's minerality. 【Exceptional elegance from a challenging vintage】.
🍴 This savory and classic red Pinot Noir pairs beautifully with duck, goose, and game birds. It would also complement red meat dishes like roasted leg of mutton or mature cheeses.
🥂 This wine is suitable for special occasions or a refined dinner. Its developing complexity and good aging potential make it a thoughtful choice for a wine enthusiast's gathering or a celebratory meal.
