FEATURES
🏰 The 2007 布根地 (Burgundy) vintage was characterized by a warm April followed by a cool, damp summer, which posed challenges for growers with mildew and rot. However, a late-season north wind and dry conditions in early September helped salvage the harvest. Red wines from 2007 are generally fragrant and light-tannined, often compared to the 2000 vintage, and are mostly at or past their peak, though the finest Grand Crus from top producers can still offer pleasure. The Côte de Nuits, where Clos Vougeot is located, performed strongly in 2007, producing light, elegant, and appealingly perfumed wines. Francois Lamarche's Clos Vougeot Grand Cru 2007 would likely exhibit these characteristics, offering a delicate and pure expression of Pinot Noir. 【 Elegant and perfumed expression of Pinot Noir 】.
🍴 This elegant red 布根地 wine pairs beautifully with classic French cuisine. Consider roasted poultry like guinea fowl or duck, delicate game birds, or a mushroom-based risotto. Lighter preparations of beef, such as a beef carpaccio, or aged, mild cheeses would also be excellent choices. Its fragrant profile would be complemented by dishes with subtle earthy or herbal notes.
🥂 This wine is suitable for a refined dinner party, a special anniversary, or a gathering of 布根地 enthusiasts. It's a wine to be enjoyed for its nuanced aromatics and delicate structure, offering a glimpse into a challenging yet rewarding vintage from a prestigious Grand Cru.
BACKGROUND
François Lamarche is a historic winery located in the village of Vosne-Romanée, France. The primary grape variety is Pinot Noir. The winery was founded in the early 20th century by Henri Lamarche and his wife, Marie Grivelet, both of whom hailed from Burgundy and had extensive experience in wine production. In 2019, the current owner, Nicole Lamarche, officially renamed the winery to Domaine Nicole Lamarche, and from the 2018 vintage onwards, the wines no longer bear the name of the former owner, François Lamarche.
