Jean-yves Bizot, Bourgogne Blanc Les Violettes, 2010
🏰 The 2010 Jean-Yves Bizot Bourgogne Blanc Les Violettes hails from a vintage generally considered very good for white Burgundy, known for its freshness and balance. Jean-Yves Bizot is a revered name in Burgundy, celebrated for his natural winemaking approach and the expressive, often rare, qualities of his wines. While specific vintage notes for this exact bottling are scarce, Bizot's reputation suggests a wine crafted with minimal intervention, allowing the terroir to shine through. 【Bizot's cult status and natural winemaking philosophy make this a highly sought-after and expressive white Burgundy.】
🍴 This elegant white Burgundy would be a delightful companion to delicate seafood dishes like pan-seared scallops or grilled sole. It also pairs beautifully with creamy chicken dishes, goat cheese salads, or a classic French omelette.
🥂 Perfect for a sophisticated dinner party, a special anniversary, or a quiet evening appreciating a rare and thoughtfully made wine. Its freshness and complexity make it suitable for both immediate enjoyment and further cellaring.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Jean Yves Bizot is a small Burgundy wine producer located in the Côte de Nuits, making Pinot Noir on several small plots of the Vosne-Romanée Premier Cru vineyard and the Grand Cru chézeaux vineyard. It also produces small amounts of Chardonnay at the village and Burgundy Blanc levels, and has plots in Massanai and Burgundy Chapit. The total area of the estate is just over three hectares. The current incarnation of the domaine was founded in 1995, when Jean Yves Bizot, a professor of oenology, inherited the domaine and vineyards from his family and followed a largely unconventional winemaking process.
