This vivid red wine offers an intensely fragrant nose with hints of incense and lavender, leading to a full-bodied, supple texture on the palate with silky tannins and impressive energy. It gains weight with air while maintaining freshness and clarity, promising a long, juicy finish.
🍴 This powerful Chateauneuf du Pape is a superb match for classic meat dishes such as roasted lamb, beef tenderloin, or game. It also complements rich stews, hearty mushroom dishes, and aged hard cheeses. For an adventurous pairing, consider Asian-inspired dishes with savory and umami notes.
🥂 A highly sought-after and collectible wine, perfect for a grand celebration, a serious tasting among connoisseurs, or as a prized addition to any cellar.
BACKGROUND
Château Rayas is a leading producer in the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation of the Rhône Valley, France. It is one of the region's most prestigious estates, and its wines fetch some of the highest prices in southern France. The estate covers 22 hectares, with 15 hectares dedicated to vineyards. Most of their vines are planted to Grenache. The estate's red wine is made solely from Grenache. The château's white Châteauneuf-du-Pape is generally made from Grenache Blanc and Clairette in roughly equaly proportions. Château Rayas has been in the Reynaud family since the 1880s.
