🏰 The 2011 Rouget Vosne Romanée Les Beaux Monts 1er Cru hails from a challenging vintage in Burgundy, which nonetheless produced some charming wines from top estates. The 2011 red Burgundy vintage was marked by mercurial weather, including a warm spring, a severe heatwave, and mid-summer hailstorms, leading to smaller yields. The resulting reds tended to be lighter, with lower alcohol and tannin, and average acidity. However, top wines from leading estates, particularly in the Côte de Nuits, displayed good concentration of fruit and a clear, crystalline quality. These wines are generally considered forward and ideal for early to mid-term drinking, showcasing purity of place and succulent fruit without a heavy tannic spine. 【 Purity of fruit from a challenging vintage 】
🍴 This elegant red Burgundy pairs beautifully with roasted poultry like duck or guinea fowl, mushroom-based dishes, or lighter game. Its refined character also complements dishes featuring truffles or a delicate beef carpaccio.
🥂 Perfect for a sophisticated dinner with close friends, a special family gathering, or an intimate celebration where a nuanced and expressive red wine is desired.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Emmanuel Rouget was founded in 1985 in Burgundy, France. The wines produced by the estate quickly gained a legendary status among collectors worldwide. The winery is located in Flagey-Echézeaux. In addition to Pinot Noir, Emmanuel Rouget also uses Gamay for winemaking and produces high-quality white wines from Aligoté in the Burgundy region. Emmanuel Rouget is considered a successor to Henri Jayer's winemaking philosophy, adhering to the "non-interventionist" approach from cultivation to production.
