FEATURES
🏰 From the renowned Tardieu Laurent, this 2003 Côte Rôtie hails from a famously warm vintage, offering 【a powerful yet elegant expression of Northern Rhône Syrah.】 Expect a spicy and herbal profile, with a tight Syrah character filled with granite-like minerality and roasted plum flavor. The nose often evokes luxurious leather with touches of bramble fruit. On the palate, it's earthy with a lovely combination of blackberry, black raspberry, cloves, cinnamon, and cedar, possibly even some umami. It delivers smoky and spicy aromas of bacon fat, coffee, earth, herbs, white pepper, black pepper, rosemary, and game, complemented by refreshing notes of blackberry, black cherry liqueur, raspberry, and cassis. Hints of violet floral aromatics from Viognier may also be present.
🍴 An ideal match for classic meat dishes such as veal, pork, beef, lamb, duck, game, and roast chicken, as well as roasted, braised, and grilled preparations. It also pairs well with tomatoes, eggplant, sausage, hearty fish like tuna, mushrooms, and pasta. Specifically, consider cassoulet, beef brisket, venison, beef stroganoff, herb-crusted rack of lamb, or braised lamb shanks. Magret de Canard au Pommeau (duck breast with apple glaze) is an extraordinary pairing.
🥂 Perfect for a sophisticated dinner party, a special occasion featuring rich meats, or a cozy evening by the fireplace. Serve at 15.5°C (60°F) to allow its complex aromas to unfold. As a 23-year-old wine, it will show significant tertiary development. Decanting is highly recommended to allow it to breathe and shed any sediment. Be mindful of the old cork and capsule.
