🏰 The 2007 vintage in Burgundy was characterized by a challenging growing season with a warm April followed by a cool, damp summer, leading to mildew and rot. However, a saving grace came with a north wind in late August and dry, sunny conditions in September, which rescued the harvest. Red wines from 2007, particularly Pinot Noir, are generally described as fresh, with bright forest fruit and aromatics, often exhibiting a mineral streak. They tend to be light-tannined and approachable, with some comparisons drawn to the 2000 vintage. The Côte de Nuits, where Nuits-Saint-Georges is located, generally fared better than the Côte de Beaune in this vintage. 【 Elegant, perfumed Pinot Noir from a challenging yet rewarding vintage 】.
🍴 This Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru, with its fragrant and light-tannined profile, would be an excellent match for delicate roasted poultry like guinea fowl or duck breast. It also pairs well with earthy mushroom dishes, charcuterie, or a classic coq au vin.
🥂 Ideal for a sophisticated dinner party or a special occasion where a refined, aromatic red Burgundy is desired. Its approachable nature also makes it suitable for a relaxed, yet elegant, gathering with friends.
