🏰 The 2016 Jean-Louis Chave Hermitage Blanc is a 【magical effort, hailed for its unmatched style, intensity, and sheer grandeur despite limited production due to hail】. This profound white Rhone blend erupts with a fabulous blast of quince, white flowers, buttered citrus, licorice, and exotic spices. The palate is full-bodied, rounded, and incredibly sexy, delivering deep, opulent layers with "straight-up awesome purity of fruit". Its taut structure and incredible length promise remarkable aging potential.
🍴 This opulent white wine is a dream with rich, creamy dishes. Think lobster thermidor, roasted turbot with a beurre blanc sauce, or pan-seared scallops. It also excels with white meats like roast veal tenderloin in a cream sauce, poultry, or even spicy Asian cuisine. For an ultimate indulgence, pair it with truffle risotto. Mature hard cheeses like Beaufort are also a great match.
🥂 Perfect for a grand gastronomic experience, a significant anniversary, or a special occasion where a truly exceptional white wine is desired. Serve slightly chilled at 12-14°C (54-57°F).
BACKGROUND
Domaine Jean-Louis Chave is a powerful wine producer headquartered in the village of Mauves in the Saint-Joseph region, across the Rhone River from Hermitage. It owns about 14.5 hectares (36 acres) of land and grapes. The terraced estate now covers eight different plots on the hill, providing a range of mesoclimates and terroirs for Chave wines. Many of the vines are between 30 and 60 years old.
