Henri De Villamont, Grands Echezeaux Grand Cru, 2016
🏰Henri de Villamont's Grands Echezeaux Grand Cru 2016 hails from a Burgundy vintage that, despite being a 【tiny volume year due to frost and mildew, produced many great red wines, some even surpassing 2015 in quality】. The 2016 reds are celebrated for their classicism, balance, and poise, offering pure red fruit and excellent terroir definition.
This Grand Cru Pinot Noir is expected to showcase exceptional elegance and complexity, with a harmonious blend of red and black fruits, delicate spice, and profound earthy notes. It should possess a fine structure and a long, nuanced finish, indicative of its Grand Cru status and significant aging potential.
🍴 An ideal pairing for sophisticated dishes such as roasted game birds, duck confit, or fine mushroom-based creations. Its elegance also complements delicate roasted beef or lamb. For an Eastern pairing, consider a refined Cantonese braised abalone or a subtle Japanese sukiyaki with premium beef.
🥂 Perfect for a very special occasion, a collector's dinner, or a significant milestone celebration, offering a profound and memorable Burgundy experience.
BACKGROUND
The history of Domaine Henri De Villamont can be traced back to the late 19th century in Savigny-Bonne in the center of Burgundy. It was founded by winemaker Léonce Bocquet. After Léonce Boquet's death, the winery changed owners many times until 1964 when the Swiss family group Schenk (one of Europe's leaders in the wine trade, with operations in most of the world's vineyards) bought it. The winery now offers a full range of high-quality Burgundy wines, some of which come from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grown on the winery's 10 hectares of land, and also use high-quality grapes from other places.
