🏰 Sylvain Pataille is a highly respected vigneron in Marsannay, known for his commitment to biodynamic and organic viticulture and for producing wines of remarkable balance and distinct minerality. The 2023 vintage for Burgundy is still very young, with detailed reports likely emerging as the wines are released and tasted. However, early indications for Sylvain Pataille's Marsannay Rouge 2023 suggest an inviting ruby red hue with aromas of red fruits harmoniously interwoven with spicy notes. On the palate, it is described as deep, silky, and velvety, offering a balanced sip with a refined finish. Vinous has already rated the 2023 Marsannay Rouge 90/100, highlighting its quality and a remarkable aging potential of 10-15 years. 【 A promising young Marsannay from a biodynamic pioneer, already showing critical acclaim 】.
🍴 This vibrant young Pinot Noir is versatile. It pairs beautifully with charcuterie, terrines, hanger steak, beef bourguignon, or lamb chops. For a seafood option, roast monkfish is suggested. Its red fruit and spicy notes also make it an excellent match for pork dishes and mature cheeses.
🥂 Given its youth and promising aging potential, this wine is perfect for a celebratory dinner now, or for laying down in the cellar to enjoy its evolving complexities over the next decade or more. It's also an excellent choice for a tasting focused on emerging Burgundy vintages or the work of biodynamic producers.
