Pataille Syvain, Bouzeron, 2023
White
750ml
Label : Good Label
Level : Neck Level
Capsule : Good Capsule
🏰 The 2023 Sylvain Pataille Bouzeron is a 【white wine of remarkable elegance and purity, a true expression of Burgundy's only appellation dedicated exclusively to Aligoté】. This balanced and bright vintage showcases a mineral-driven Bouzeron full of precision, energy, and tension, a quintessential example of Pataille's refined craftsmanship. Expect a bright straw yellow color with golden reflections, and a nose of fresh citrus, white flowers, hazelnut, and flinty minerality. The palate is lively and elegant, with balanced acidity and a long, saline finish, demonstrating how Aligoté can produce depth, freshness, and sophistication when cultivated with care.
🍴 This versatile and gastronomic white wine is perfect with oysters, shellfish, grilled fish, or light vegetable dishes. It's also ideal with goat cheese or as an aperitif. Its vibrant acidity and mineral notes would also complement sushi, ceviche, or fresh salads.
🥂 Excellent for a summer lunch, a seafood dinner, or as a refreshing aperitif to kick off any gathering. Its purity and precision make it a delightful choice for those who appreciate nuanced white wines.
Serving suggestion: This young white Burgundy is best served chilled, around 10-12°C (50-54°F). While enjoyable now, some critics suggest it will start to show its best from 2026 and can age until 2034.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Sylvain Pataille is a highly regarded wine producer based in Marsannay-la-Côte, Burgundy, famous for its unusual and unusual Pinot Noir wines from its native region. What’s more, it is also the champion of the Aligoté grape variety. Winemaker (and consultant oenologist to several Burgundy chateaux) Sylvain Pataille founded his estate in 1999 with just one hectare (2.5 acres) of vines, but started working full-time in 2001. Today it has approximately 15 hectares (37 acres) of vineyards, all within or outside the borders of Marsannay, all certified organic.
