Yvon Clerget, Volnay Carelle Sous La Chapelle 1er Cru, 2018
🏰 The 2018 vintage in Burgundy produced wines with good concentration and a sappy palate. This Volnay boasts a deep, rich ruby color. The nose offers fragrant red berry fruit with veins of blueberry, becoming increasingly floral with aeration, and hints of fresh violet and lime candy. The palate is medium-bodied with chewy tannins on the entry, dominated by ripe black fruits, with an airy honey-lime flavor that lingers. It has delicate acidity and very fine tannins, creating an elegant and refined taste, with a long and sweet finish. Expect notes of ripe cherry, plum, strawberry, raspberry, and mushroom. 【 A classic Volnay, showcasing elegance and velvety Pinot Noir character even in a ripe vintage 】.
🍴 Pairs well with chicken, duck, goat cheese, and mushrooms. Volnay wines generally complement roasts, white meats, poultry, and fine cheeses.
🥂 This wine is enjoyable now but will benefit from 3-5 more years of aging. It's suitable for special dinners, intimate gatherings, or as a thoughtful gift for a Burgundy lover. It can age with style.
