🏰 The 2019 Chablis vintage, despite being a hot and warm year, remarkably retained a sense of place and avoided the tropical fruit aromas often associated with low-acid vintages. It was a low-crop vintage, with yields 20-40% below normal, but excellent sanitary conditions prevailed due to minimal rain and abundant sunshine. This vintage produced highly concentrated Chablis with sun-kissed aromatics, balanced structure, and excellent minerality, often described as 'gourmand' yet with tense, structural minerality. The wines exhibit a noticeable power, weight, and warmth on the palate, while retaining mouth-watering acidity and mineral typicity. The concentration suggests that most wines, especially Premier and Grand Cru levels, will improve with 5+ years in the cellar and can age for a very long time. Chablis Les Preuses Grand Cru is from a prestigious Grand Cru vineyard, known for its searing essence of Kimmeridgian 'oyster-shell' minerality. Expect an intense wet limestone and oyster shell bouquet, beautifully defined and quintessentially Chablis, with a vibrant palate, slightly chalky texture, and a killer line of acidity.
