🏰 The 2018 vintage in Burgundy was generally warm and generous, yielding ripe and opulent wines. For white wines, while some critics noted variability in acidity, the best examples showcased concentration and freshness. Philippe Pacalet is a highly respected producer known for his natural winemaking philosophy, employing indigenous yeasts and minimal intervention to express the purest form of terroir. Meursault Genevrières 1er Cru is one of the most esteemed Premier Cru vineyards in Meursault, celebrated for producing elegant, mineral-driven Chardonnay.
This 2018 Philippe Pacalet Meursault Genevrières 1er Cru is expected to be a wine of significant character. Anticipate ripe yellow fruit notes such as peach and apricot, interwoven with citrus and delicate floral aromas. These fruit profiles are beautifully complemented by hints of hazelnut, a touch of buttery richness, and a distinctive underlying minerality. The wine should possess good concentration and a rich texture, balanced by a refreshing acidity that is a hallmark of Pacalet's pure, terroir-driven style. 【 Premier Cru Meursault from a natural winemaking pioneer, showcasing purity and terroir 】
🍴 This exquisite white Burgundy is an excellent match for rich fish dishes, such as grilled sea bass, turbot, or pan-seared scallops with a delicate butter sauce. It also pairs wonderfully with poultry in cream sauces, like roasted chicken with morels, or elegant veal preparations. Consider serving it with soft, creamy cheeses or a luxurious risotto featuring mushrooms or seafood.
🥂 This wine is ideal for a fine dining experience, a special celebration, or a focused tasting for Burgundy white wine aficionados. It can be enjoyed now to appreciate its youthful fruit and vibrant freshness, or cellared for several years to allow it to develop greater complexity and tertiary notes.
