🏰 The 2014 Trapet Chapelle Chambertin Grand Cru is a refined expression of Pinot Noir from Burgundy. The 2014 vintage in Burgundy for reds was generally characterized by freshness, medium-plus complexity, a bright fruit profile, and some rusticity. This particular Grand Cru offers a lifted bouquet, floral and effervescent, with shimmering red cherry and strawberry fruit. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with supple tannins, a fine line of acidity, and a very classy and pure, caressing, tender yet persistent finish. Expect ripe, musky aromas of redcurrant, plum, smoke, dried flowers, and earth, with terrific depth to the flavors of cherry, redcurrant, and crushed rock. It's described as a relatively approachable Grand Cru, heightened by its tension and linearity, and laser-like focus. 【 This wine is a pure joy, showcasing a wonderful Grand Cru that seems to be improving in bottle. 】.
🍴 This elegant Grand Cru Burgundy pairs beautifully with classic French cuisine. Consider roasted duck with cherry sauce, pan-seared foie gras, or a delicate mushroom tart. Its finesse also makes it suitable for fine cheeses.
🥂 Ideal for a celebratory meal, a special occasion, or a serious Burgundy tasting. This wine has a good aging potential, with a recommended drinking window from 2020-2040.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Trapet is a wine company comprised of two estates, one in Alsace, the other in Burgundy. The company in its current dual-region configuration formed when Andrée Trapet inherited her parents' vineyards in Alsace in 2002. Her husband Jean-Louis has run Domaine Trapet Père et Fils in Gevrey-Chambertin since 1990, when he took over from his father Jean.
